Canon's EFS wide-angle zoom lens isn't exactly the astrophotographer's dream lens. It's perfectly fine for day-time wide-field images, giving a 91.2 x 60.8 field of view at 10mm setting on an APSC-format camera. But taking it out at night reveals pretty colours and interesting shapes around stars at the edge.

With the EOS 60D, this lens at 10mm focal length gives a field of view of about 90 x 60 (see this image, for example).

nothing more to see. please move along.
